Bobby Portis Rivals Corliss Williamson For Top Season By NBA Razorback Big

Bobby Portis

in his fourth season in the league, Bobby Portis put together arguably the best season ever by a Razorback big man in terms of traditional stats. Although traded midway through the season from Chicago to Washington, he still put up big numbers.

Portis’ 8.1 rebounds per game in 2018-19 was the best-ever rebounding season in the NBA by a Razorback, regardless of position (Sidney Moncrief’s best was 6.7 rebounds per game).

When Portis was a struggling youth in Little Rock, Corliss Williamson allowed him to live in his house for a little while. Williamson helped train Portis in AAU basketball, and now Portis is coming fast on his heels in this category.
