Hi, I’m Evin. Yes it is spelled Evin with an “i.”
Perhaps that’s one reason I’ve always enjoyed taking a different angle on matters, extending back to my days as an Arkansas Democrat-Gazette feature writer and sports columnist for Sync, its weekly magazine in central Arkansas. Long before that, as the sports editor of The Tiger, I weekly had to come up with novel ways to describe the exploits of basketball star Joe Johnson, my classmate at Little Rock Central High School.
I’ve written about Arkansas sports for more than a decade. I had the pleasure of being the only Arkansas sportswriter to attend Nolan Richardson’s Naismith Hall of Fame induction in Massachusetts and of writing Frank Broyles’ obituary for Deadspin.
