Ryan Silverfield is in attack mode and he wants everybody to know it.

“We have to attack the work,” the new Arkansas football coach said during his introductory press conference.

So far, so good on that front.

Everywhere you look, Silverfield’s aggressiveness is bearing fruit.

On the recruiting front, he’s flipped multiple in-state recruits and pretty much delivered cardiac shock to a Razorback recruiting scene previously on life support. In this case, given how bad a class that ended up ranked nationally in the 50s had been looking, hardly anybody minds Silverfield said the below earlier in the week:

On the fundraising front, the youthful 45-year-old’s already flashing what appears to be a Midas touch considering Hunter Yurachek’s story about the booster pledging a seven-digit donation after a few minutes of chatting with the new coach.

Then, of course, there are the new coordinators set to arrive in Fayetteville according to multiple reports: Tim Cramsey, his OC from Memphis and Ron Roberts, the previous defensive coordinator at Auburn and Florida.

Solid hires, sure, but Cramsey has never coached in the SEC before. This duo doesn’t exactly leap off the page as the second comings of young Bob Stoops and former Razorback assistant Monte Kiffin.

“You’re going to be blown away by the staff,” Silverfield said on Thursday. “It’s going to be a bunch of high-character coaches, coaches are going to love the players, they’re going to pour into them, they’re going to love this community, they’re excited to be here, that want to rebuild this thing the right way and know how special Arkansas can be.”

If that sounds cliched to you, Silverfield wants you to know he’s waging war on this front too.

In another part of his Thursday introduction, the Florida native told gathered media that his appreciation for “great leaders and great-leadered men” may sound like “coach speak.” It’s not, though, “because I believe that how you do anything is how you do everything.”

On a Hog Pod interview with Bo Mattingly, Silverfield expanded on his distaste for boilerplate catch-alls.
