Arkansas Roster Tracker for 2025: Who’s Staying, Who’s Going, Who’s on the Fence

Roster turnover has become the norm across the country and the Arkansas football program is no different.

The Razorbacks brought in 50 newcomers last offseason and many of them – including their starting quarterback, leading rusher and top tackler – were significant contributors from the transfer portal.

While several key players are expected to return, there will likely be more roster churn this year. That has already begun and will probably continue through the spring.

What’s different about this season is that Arkansas – like the rest of the country – will be operating under new parameters this offseason because of the monumental NCAA-House settlement.

Revenue sharing gets most of the headlines, but the agreement also comes with restructured roster and scholarship limits.

College football programs at the FBS level will now be restricted to only 105 players on their roster, but all of them could be on scholarship – either partial or full. That is a change from the current setup that allows teams to use 85 full scholarships and have unlimited walk-ons.

The SEC has agreed to stick with 85 scholarships in 2025, with the remaining 20 spots filled with walk-ons. It’s unclear if the Razorbacks will split up any of them next year, so for the sake of this project, we’re treating every scholarship player as receiving one of 85 full scholarships.

As you can see, Arkansas is hovering right around that scholarship limit, but is well above the 105-man limit. These numbers will fluctuate as current Razorbacks hit the transfer portal and other recruits – many from the portal – commit in the coming months.

We’ll be keeping track of it all here…

2025 Arkansas Football Roster Tracker

  • Scholarship: 88 – TARGET: 85
  • Total on Roster: 119 (potentially 120) – TARGET: 105

NOTE: Players who are eligible to return to the team as a super senior (meaning they’re using the extra year of eligibility granted to players active in 2020 as part of the NCAA’s response to the pandemic) are not included in the official count until they announce they are returning.

However, we are including players set to be traditional seniors or redshirt seniors in 2025, even if they participated in senior day festivities. For example, Josh Street would be a fifth-year senior next season, so he is included in the count, but he went through senior day.

Both kinds of players are listed in the “decision to make” sections.

NOTE (Dec. 23): Sam Pittman said Arkansas would be splitting up some of its scholarships, especially among the in-state walk-ons who may qualify for academic scholarships. Previously, this was not allowed. There is a chance more than 85 players are on scholarship, but it’s impossible to know who has a partial vs. a full. The number that can’t change, though, is the 105-man roster limit.

  • Dec. 18: Rashod Dubinion announced he was entering the transfer portal.

  • Dec. 4: Three-star wide receiver Kamare Williams flipped to Louisville on the first day of the early signing period.
  • Dec. 4: Perhaps the first true surprise of the transfer portal cycle, Isaiah Sategna announced he planned to leave Arkansas. He was set to be the Razorbacks’ top returning receiver after catching 37 passes for 491 yards and one touchdown this season.
  • Dec. 9: Walk-on wide receiver Kamron Bibby entered the transfer portal.
  • Dec. 12: We are classifying Khafre Brown as “exhausted eligibility” because Sam Pittman said in his press conference that “he’s done.” A super senior in 2024, he likely could have received another year because an injury prevented him from playing after the opener.
  • Dec. 15: Fresno State transfer Raylen Sharpe committed to the Hogs. Sharpe played for offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino at Missouri State in 2022. He caught 51 passes for 543 yards and three touchdowns for the Bulldogs this season.

  • Dec. 25: One-time Arkansas commit Courtney Crutchfield is coming home. The former top-100 recruit spent one year at Missouri, where he signed after previously pledging to the Razorbacks.
  • Dec. 26: Not only did he practice at the position leading up to the Liberty Bowl, but Sam Pittman announced that tight end Shamar Easter is expected to move to wide receiver full-time moving forward.
  • Dec. 31: Just four days after his breakout performance in the Liberty Bowl, Dazmin James entered the transfer portal.
  • Jan. 6: Arkansas has added a fifth wide receiver via the transfer portal, this time landing Ismael Cisse from Stanford.

  • Luke Brown — medically retired
  • ^Carius Curne — decommitted (signed with LSU)
  • ^Connor Howes — decommitted (flipped to Ole Miss)

Movement/News

  • March 25: Only about a month and a half after his commitment, Carius Curne reopened his recruitment. The four-star lineman out of Marion eventually committed to and signed with LSU.
  • Dec. 1: The day after Arkansas’ regular-season finale at Missouri, Amaury Wiggins announced he would enter the transfer portal after two seasons with the Razorbacks. He was left off the travel roster for that game and had seemingly fallen out of the two-deep.
  • Dec. 4: Arkansas got some good news in the form of Fernando Carmona confirming his plans to return for another season with the Razorbacks. He could have tested the NFL Draft waters or entered the portal again.
  • Dec. 5: In one of the more surprising departures of the portal era, Patrick Kutas will transfer and play elsewhere for his final two years of elgibility.
  • Dec. 5: After visiting Ole Miss on the final weekend of the regular season, four-star offensive lineman Connor Howes flipped his commitment to the Rebels on the second day of the early signing period.
  • Dec. 6: Make that two starters in two days with surprise decisions to enter the transfer portal, as reports surfaced about Joshua Braun deciding to use his extra year of eligibility elsewhere.
  • Dec. 9: In an unsurprising move, Ty’Kieast Crawford has entered the transfer portal after four seasons at Arkansas. He was technically a super senior this year, but he appeared in only one game, so he took his unused redshirt. He’ll be a sixth-year super senior in 2025.
  • Dec. 11: Addison Nichols is the third starting offensive lineman to announce his plan to enter the transfer portal. He was the starting center during his lone season with the Razorbacks.
  • Dec. 12: The first player to commit to Arkansas out of the transfer portal was Jac’Qawn McRoy, a former four-star recruit who spent his freshman year at Oregon.
  • Dec. 14: Walk-on Brooks Edmonson has been placed on scholarship.
  • Dec. 19: Within minutes of each other, Georgia Tech tackle Corey Robinson II and UCF center Caden Kitler both committed to the Hogs. They have one and two years of eligibility remaining, respectively.
  • Dec. 23: A few days later, the Razorbacks added another offensive lineman from the transfer portal. This time it was Kavion Broussard, who didn’t see the field as a true freshman at Ole Miss in 2024.
  • Dec. 30: After two injury-filled seasons at Arkansas, former four-star recruit Luke Brown announced he is medically retiring from football.
  • Jan. 5: Arkansas has added a fifth offensive lineman via the transfer portal, landing Marcus Dumervil from Maryland. He began his career at LSU and actually started a game against the Hogs in 2021. He’s a sixth-year super senior in his final season of eligibility.

Movement/News

  • Dec. 2: Cam Ball confirmed he would return as a fifth-year senior.

  • Dec. 6: Nico Davillier was the third starter to announce his intention to enter the portal on Dec. 6. He announcement came about a week after he underwent knee surgery.
  • Dec. 11: Despite appearing in only one game as a heralded freshman, Kavion Henderson re-affirmed his plans to “run it back” at Arkansas next year.
  • Dec. 16: Michigan State transfer Ken Talley committed to Arkansas. A former four-star prospect out of high school, Talley spent two years with the Spartans and “tallied” 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
  • Dec. 20: Abilene Christian transfer David Oke committed to Arkansas. He is coming off a breakout season in the FCS ranks, as he totaled 63 tackles and 9.5 TFLs as a defensive tackle this past season.
  • Dec. 21: Florida transfer Justus Boone committed to Arkansas. He posted 10 tackles and 0.5 sacks in 2024. He will be listed as a redshirt senior, but could have two years of eligibility left after an ACL tear took out his 2022 season.
  • Dec. 23: Sam Pittman said he was hopeful that the Diego Pavia ruling might give Anton Juncaj another year of eligibility.
  • Jan. 3: Juncaj opted not to pursue that potential extra year of eligibility, instead declaring for the NFL Draft.

  • Dec. 11: In another blow to the defense, Brad Spence has entered the transfer portal.
  • Dec. 12: A day after losing Spence, Arkansas fans got some good news in the form of Stephen Dix Jr. announcing he’d return for a second season at Arkansas. He’ll be a sixth-year super senior in 2025.
  • Dec. 29: Walk-on Brooks Yurachek, the son of Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek, has entered the portal. He spent one year at Arkansas after beginning his career at Wake Forest, also as a walk-on.

  • Doneiko Slaughter — exhausted eligibility
  • Kee’yon Stewart — exhausted eligibility

  • Jaylon Braxton — transfer portal
  • Dylan Hasz — transfer portal
  • TJ Metcalf — transfer portal
  • Tevis Metcalf — transfer portal
  • ^Shannon Blair — decommitted
  • ^Marcus Wimberly — decommitted

Movement/News

  • Dec. 1, 2023: Despite being the second player committed in Arkansas’ 2025 class and an in-state prospect from Bauxite, Marcus Wimberly announced his decommitment shortly after his junior season. He has since committed to and signed with Oklahoma.
  • Dec. 3: On the eve of the early signing period, Shannon Blair backed off his pledge to Arkansas. He is a cornerback out of East Mississippi C.C. who originally committed to the Razorbacks on Aug. 3.
  • Dec. 6: Dallas Young is the first defensive back to announce his plans to enter the transfer portal. It’s not a surprising decision because he’s hardly played in two years with the Razorbacks and was seemingly buried on the depth chart.
  • Dec. 6: Despite Sam Pittman expressing optimism several times throughout the season, Jaylon Braxton never played again after getting injured in Week 2. By appearing in only two games, he redshirted and will now have three years of eligibility at his next school.
  • Dec. 9: Not surprisingly, Dylan Hasz has announced he’s entering the transfer portal. His announcement comes a few days after his twin brother, Luke Hasz, made the same announcement. He was a key contributor on special teams the last two years.
  • Dec. 9: The other set of brothers on the team are also on their way out, as TJ and Tevis Metcalf both entered the transfer portal on the first day it was open. TJ Metcalf was a starting safety for the Razorbacks, while Tevis contributed on special teams as a true freshman.
  • Dec. 9: The fourth blow to the secondary of the day came in the form of Selman Bridges entering the portal. He got quite a bit of praise during the preseason, but didn’t play on defense outside of the opener. However, he played enough on special teams to burn his redshirt.
  • Dec. 12: Just three days after entering, Selman Bridges withdrew from the transfer portal. He’ll be back as a sophomore in 2025.
  • Dec. 14: The second player the Razorbacks landed out of the portal was Kani Walker, a cornerback from Oklahoma.
  • Dec. 14: A few days after officially visiting Fayetteville, Keyshawn Davila announced his commitment to Arkansas.

Projected 2025 Roster

  • P Devin Bale — redshirt senior

  • *LS Max Schmidly — redshirt sophomore
  • *K Charlie Von Der Meden — redshirt freshman
  • *^P Gavin Rush — freshman

  • ^K Evan Noel — decommitted
  • *K Kyle Ramsey — exhausted eligibility
  • *P Sam Dubwig — transfer portal
  • *K Vito Calvaruso — transfer portal (could have returned as a sixth-year super senior)

Movement/News

  • Aug. 28: Just before the start of the season, Sam Pittman announced scholarship long snapper and returning starter Eli Stein had left the team. His decision is believed to have been influenced by losing at least one of the two starting jobs (punts and kicks/PATs) to Ashton Ngo. As a result, Ngo was placed on scholarship.
  • Nov. 11: More than a year after committing to the Razorbacks, Evan Noel flipped his pledge to SEC foe Florida. He was ranked as the No. 1 kicker in the country at the time of his original commitment, but had since slipped to No. 2, according to Kohl’s Kicking. The good news? Arkansas acted quickly to find his replacement, flipping Scott Starzyk from Iowa on Nov. 26. He is who supplanted Noel for the No. 1 spot in the rankings.
  • Dec. 9: Walk-on punter Sam Dubwig, an in-state product out of Cabot, has entered the transfer portal.
  • Jan. 6: BoAS has confirmed that walk-on kicker Vito Calvaruso has entered the transfer portal again. He started his career in Fayetteville, transferred to Wisconsin and then ended up back here after one year. It hasn’t panned out, though, and now he’s pursuing his super senior year elsewhere.
